Natural gas is composed of a mix of hydrocarbons and other non-hydrocarbon compounds. Long-term CO2,H2S will cause corrosion of equipment, pipelines and pipes. The presence of CO2 will also lead to a low calorific energy value for natural gas. Additionally, LNG raw material CNG (liquefied natural gaz) should be removed prior to liquefaction. This will prevent the formation of crystals in cryogenic process, which can clog pipelines, and also prevent corrosive gases corrosion. Dry ice can be formed by carbon dioxide during liquefaction and cause pipe blockage. CNG that has high amounts of CO2 needs to be extracted before LNG can be produced.
