What are the functions of boron nitride

The Boron Nitride Powder Overview Powder

The industrial powder Boron Nitride a pure white ceramic material with the same hexagonal crystal structure to graphite. The material can stand temperatures as high as 2,000 degrees Celsius. Depending on the grade of the material, its dielectric strength could be close to 1000 volts/millimeter. Boron nitride is hot-pressed in it's form of billets, that can be processed into rods, bars, plates and even customized shapes .

What is the uses of the boron nitride?

1.Release Agent for Metal forming and lubricant for drawing metal.

2.Special electrolysis and resistance materials in a high temperature conditions.

3.High-temperature solid lubricants, extrusion anti-wear additives, additives for the production of ceramic composite materials, refractory materials and antioxidant additives, especially in the case of corrosion resistance of molten metals,heat-enhanced additives,high-temperature insulation materials.

4.Heat-sealing desiccants for transistors as well as additives for polymers like plastic resins.

5.Pressed into different shapes of boron nitride products, which are suitable for use as high temperature, high pressure insulation, heat dissipation pieces.

6.Thermal materials used to shield in aerospace.

7.With the help of catalysts, it can be transformed into cubic boron nitride that is as hard as diamond after high temperatures along with high pressure.

8.The material structures of the Atomic reactor.

9.Aircraft,rocket engine nozzle.

10.Insulator for the high-voltage and high frequency of electricity as well as plasma arches.

11.Packaging material to prevent the radiation of neutrons.

12.The superhard substance created by an oxidation process called boronnitride can be made into high-speed cutting tools and drill bits used in geological exploration and drilling for oil.

13.Separation rings for continuous casting steel in metallurgy. Flow slot for ferrous iron, release agent used for cast continuous aluminum(various releases agents for optical glass)

14.Make all sorts of Evaporation vessels for capacitor film aluminum plating, picture tube aluminum plating aluminum plating, etc.

15.Various aluminum-plated bags for fresh-keeping, etc.

16.All kinds of laser anti-counterfeiting aluminum plating, brand hot stamping materials, all varieties of cigarette labeling, beer labels containers, boxes for cigarettes, etc.

17.The filler used in cosmetics for lipstick is non-toxic,lubricating and shiny.

With regard to optical applications, due to the strong hardness of the c-BN film and the extremely high transmission across the wavelength spectrum from ultraviolet(from around 200 nm)to far infrared, it is suitable as a coating on the surface of certain optical components. It is particularly suitable for use as a coating of window materials , such as zinc selenide(ZnSe)and zinc sulfide(ZnS).In in addition, it has excellent resistance to thermal shocks and is extremely hard. It will soon become one of the best window materials for high power devices and optical lasers.
