ARR already has brought in heavy metal riffs here and there in TFM. "Musthafa" and "Kalloorich Chaalai" both have decent guitar riffs. Even Deva shows some heavy metal guitar riffs in "Nagumo" and "Kaadhali Kaadhali".
But out and out Heavy Metal will not make it in TFM in quite some time, because the fury and pace of most Heavy Metal music will be incompatible with Thamizh lyrics. But then, we have already seen rap and Bhangra make forays into TFM. We'll just have to wait and see.

udhayA,
i would not categorize musthafa as "heavy metal"; it is a very good reggae tho' (when we performed it we
made it a HEAVY metal, where my room-mate went on and on improvising on the guitar - riot song to play!).
heavy/hard metal might not be new to TFM. some pieces of some of the early eighties songs seem to be heavy/hard
to me. (hope i am not seeding a weed here!). the way ARR seems to go, he would bring in more music like the
enigmas than heavy/hard metal.
bb: the reason i keep writing heavy/hard metal is because i am a tube-light; not a tungsten coil lamp :-)
