There is not afilm today withimpressive RR and the concept of theme music which was very popular during late seventies and through eighties,is only being misinterpreted. The feel required for an effective scene can be brought in only by RR and not by dialogues.Anybody who wishes to communicate with statistics in this regard, pls welcome.

Are you the IRF01 who wrote that excellent article "Where is IR?" posted in some other thread? Though you seem to be a die hard IR fan, you seem to be very knowledgeable and objective in your assessments and opinions. Above all you seem to be very uptodate with TFM, IR and music in general. Please come to the forum often man.
Thanks for your contributions.

I had the misfortune of watching Vaali yesterday. It was so bad that I had to switch it off half-way thru' the movie - my stomach could take only so much. The movie was extremely bad, but the RR made the movie seem like some Oscar winner - no, no by raising the movie standards - simply by comparision ! I wonder how a person could STEAL Love Story's theme for re-recording and STILL end up spoiling it ! Deva is one incredibly incompetent scum-bag.

Excellent analysis which gave a lot of info about the present state of Tamil film industry to some one like living far away from home. It is really sad that mediocrity sells these days. Hope this will change for the better soon.
By the way, your last para is interesting. When are we going to talk about those potential forum topics.
Can some one start that soon? Let us have healthy contributions to make the discussions meaningful.

RA & others:
Medicrity has always been there in TF, including the haydays of IR, mainly due to idiotic directors who'll settle for anything.. ( To cite an example, films like `Pongi varum kaveri')!
While IR can be instantly creative, regardless of the economics or the overall quality of the film, there's got to be quality directors (at least those of the average variety)around him, not necessarily rich producers! Like Mahendran, BR or MR...who'll insist on each tech aspect of a movie..esp. BGM

dear pals, I happened to go for a spl press show of a new film 'SETHU'.The music is by IR.There is nothing great about the songs but one song by Unni krishnan will definitely fulfil the taste of melody lovers. What I was very amazed by is the RR.After a very long time, there is some kind of RR which really moves you.Amazing performance by the hero Vikram(ULLASAM).I sincerely wish the movie does well for the good of his hard work. Also, I take this opportunity to feel very sorry for the noisy insignificant RR in TAJ MAHAL.For the info of all of you,India direct has a latest interview on its site.It is a very casual chat with playback singer Mr shreenivas.Kindly find time to listen to it and post me a response.

I listened to the interview. You were too dominant during the course of the interview. I felt as if Srinivas interviewing you. Can you please don't do that in future interviews.

Iactually knew that quite a few people might find it as you have.. But with people like shrini, who are better off singing than talking, the only way to keep the chat moving is either of us keep talking. That is why I insisted that it is not an interview and that is only a CASUAL CHAT.Dear friends, did you find time to watch diwali spl progs on SUNTV? If any body has watched KUYIL THOPPU,which was a prog featuring young singers, kindly write to me about the private album video for Shrini's song...
